How does Encrypted Client Hello (ECH) hide domain names when setting up a VPN connection?

IT ENCRYPTS THE SNI FIELD INSIDE THE TLS HANDSHAKE USING A PUBLIC DNS KEY.
In standard TLS, the requested site name is sent in plaintext via the SNI parameter, letting DPI systems block resource access. ECH encrypts this header before even reaching the server.

Protecting SNI Headers from Deep Packet Inspection Systems

Filtering DPI equipment reads the domain name in the first Client Hello packet, checks it against blocklists, and instantly sends a TCP Reset. ECH requests a special HTTPS DNS resource record with the hosting public key and wraps the real domain name inside an encrypted container, leaving only the neutral intermediate gateway address visible to the ISP.
