Physics of Packet Latency
Traffic takes an extra route: instead of a direct path to the target site, packets go through an intermediate server abroad. The higher the ping to the chosen location, the lower the channel bandwidth. Additionally, speed drops if a weak router or smartphone CPU cannot keep up with continuous data stream encryption.
How to Restore Speed
- Switch location to a geographically closer country with the lowest ping
- Change the encryption protocol to a lightweight one like WireGuard or IKEv2
- Disable Double VPN / MultiHop if it is enabled
- Switch to a less congested server within your current country
