End-to-End Authorization Protocol and SSO Risks
Single Sign-On (OAuth) technology passes a digital token to the site, verifying your identity without exposing your password. However, if a hacker gains access to your primary email or social media page, they automatically gain entry to all forums, online stores, and delivery services that used quick authorization.
How to Set Up Secure Logins
- use a separate login and unique password combination on sites where payment data is stored
- periodically check the "Third-party apps with access" section in your Google or social media security settings
- remove permissions for old games, sites, and services you no longer use
- make sure to enable two-factor authentication on your primary email inbox
